Company helps commercial trucks operate safer with Reverse Safety Technology and MobileVisionTM

Dallas, TX | November 4, 2009: On November 1, AWTI 3rd Eye MobileVision™ kicked off November Safety Month to bring awareness to commercial truck safety, specifically to reverse and backover accidents.

Backover accidents, considered fatal and preventable, took the life of Robert Augeri, a 31-year-old in Londenberry, N.H. leaving his wife and four children without a father. The family seeks to spread awareness about their son’s tragic accident and hopefully prevent others from happening in the future.

“As an industry this is one of their worst fears,” says Rob’s mother Janet Augeri. “People need to be educated about the risks of trucks backing up. Whenever we tell people what happened to Rob they almost always respond they thought trucks needed to have backup alarms! They never deal with these issues, so they are not familiar with the limitations of the OSHA standard, backup alarms or a lack of spotters.”

The Augeri family has learned the hard way what research confirms - Camera systems, also called “Reverse Safety Technology”, are “more useful” than beeping radar because “an actual view of the area behind the truck is preferred over just an alarm” (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health - RI 9660).

AWTI 3rd Eye MobileVision provides more than rear vision camera safety with the heavy-duty (HD) MobileVision™ safety technology systems. In an effort to support the Augeri family efforts and make 360-degree, MobileVision™ more affordable and accessible to commercial construction and transportation industries, AWTI 3rd Eye is offering exclusive discounts to customers mentioning “Rob’s Law”.

In addition, the Dallas-based company is providing nationwide support with a 1 year warranty on all systems with a 24-hour turnaround. AWTI 3rd Eye has established a link to the “Rob’s Law” website on their home page and is offering a portion of the proceeds to the Augeri family.

To follow November Safety Month news and events, 3rd Eye MobileVisionwill be posting updates on Twitter and Facebook. To find and follow, enter AWTI3rdEye.

About “Rob’s Law”

Robert Augeri was killed while working on a construction job on his 31st birthday. Robert picked up a paving job contracted from the Massachusetts Highway Department when he was involved in a backover accident that could have been prevented.

Survived by his parents, Chris and Janet and his wife Kim, along with his four children, Robert’s family is campaigning for safer rules in the workplace by telling Rob’s story with their efforts behind legislation. The new law, dubbed “Rob’s Law” would require trucks to be outfitted with safety technology that gives drivers and machine operators viewing capacity over blind spots.

The family hosts an information website listed below and is working to gain signatures for their campaign.
